Plantains are one up over bananas due to their culinary versatility and taste. In texture, Plantains are usually larger and tougher than bananas, with a much thicker skin. They can be fried into round or flattened cuts, with a fleshy and delightsome succulence. You can also add them to porridges, beans, or use them as a topping to rice and other cereals. Ripe plantain or plantains with yellow to blackened skins are very sweet like caramelized sugar. Ripe plantains are usually eaten like a normal banana but the texture is firmer and not as mushy when compared.
